The Women’s Jersey Bulls beat the Guildford Saints 30-0 to secure a record win

Tavares scored twice in the first eight minutes to put the Bulls up 3-0, and Tavares doubled her tally 11 minutes later when she completed her first hat-trick.

Holly Sundby’s 21st-minute goal made it 7-0 as she scored a hat-trick, and the duo went on to score five goals in the first half as the Islanders took a 13-0 lead into the break.

Leah Morris and Tiffany Sundby, who would go on to score hat-tricks of their own, scored the first two goals of the second half as the Bulls took a 15-0 lead in the 51st minute.

Holly Sundby completed her second hat-trick midway through the second half as Jersey took a 21-0 lead, while the last of Tavares’ nine goals came after that as the Bulls took a 22-0 lead two minutes later.

Eight more goals followed as the Al Jazira club set a record that may never be bettered in their first season in the English Premier League system.

“Guildford is an entertaining team that has certainly struggled this year, and from speaking to their players and manager, they have struggled in the last couple of years to get the numbers up and keep the team together,” Morris added.

“So, you have that near the bottom of the division and then near the top, the top seven are all the teams that want to move up.

“So you have a huge disconnect between the top half of the table and the bottom half.”

The Bulls have conceded just one goal in their past six games, scoring 62 goals in the process.

They face 10th-placed Cranleigh in their next match on February 8 and need just five more goals to reach 100 goals for the season.
