A popular wrestling star has walked into the sunset forever at the age of 40 after ending a career that lasted more than two decades in the industry. In a recent social media post, indie artist Cabana Man Dan bid farewell to his fans.

Dan was a veteran of the industry and began his career in 2003. Although he never made it to any of the major championships like WWE or AEW, he was very popular in the independent wrestling circuit in Georgia. After his final match on December 20, the 40-year-old issued a statement announcing his retirement.

In a lengthy article, Cabana Man Dan mentioned how he always valued being surrounded by friends and well-wishers more than fame and money. He also expressed his thanks to those who attended his final match over the weekend.

The caption read: “My heart is full and my current life is full. Thank you for pro wrestling. It’s been one hell of a ride.”

Cabana Man Dan isn’t the only wrestling star retiring in 2025

Dan wasn’t the only star to hang up his boots in 2025, as several artists, some of huge stature, bid farewell to the business as well.

The biggest of them all, of course, is John Cena, who retired less than two weeks ago at Saturday Night’s Main Event 2025, where he lost to Gunther. The Ring General was also the last challenger for Goldberg, who ended his run in July of this year.

Aside from these two big stars, he wrestled the legendary Christopher Daniels in his last match in January and subsequently moved into a backstage role in AEW. Meiko Satomura was another high-profile star who retired after a farewell tour in Japan. Finally, Jack Swagger exited the industry after announcing that he was starting a trucking business in Florida.
