✅ **What You’ll Learn**:

Many indoor hydroponics Garden systems are great showpieces for the home, but perhaps none more so than Lettuce Grow’s Farmstand.

Founded by Zooey Deschanel and her ex-husband, film producer Jacob Pechenik, Lettuce Grow stocks a variety of gardens, including the new Counterstand no-pump kit ($149), which I’m currently testing. Nothing stops guests in their tracks quite like an indoor farmhouse deck. As I described it when I reviewed it last year, it’s as if the giant strawberry planter has been reimagined as a set piece for 2001: A space journey. The Farmstand’s younger sibling, the Nook, recently began selling at Costco and instantly became an online sensation among Costco influencers. (Yes, Costco influencers exist.) Even my mother texted me in awe when I saw them in the store, even though she’s seen full-sized lettuces growing many times in my house.

In short, if you’re looking for a gift with a wow factor, the Lettuce Grow Garden is sure to deliver that, and now All planters – and tabletop sets – are 20 percent off through May 10 when you enter coupon code MOM20.

In addition to indoor models that come with light rings, there are also outdoor versions without lights that allow you to add rings later if you change your mind. You can choose from small (18 plants), medium (24 plants), or large (36 plants), although each system is completely modular – you can add levels later if you choose with the extension kit, although Lettuce Grow recommends no more than six levels in total. Each farm comes with credits for seedlings that you can order once you are ready. When I first reviewed the farm, pest infestations (aphids, whiteflies) were a major problem for the seedlings, shipped from the nursery. However, the company has since begun the quarantine process, directions for which are found on the seedling packaging. I followed suit with my Counterstand seedlings, and since then I’ve had no problems with bugs.

Note that the pump on the Farmstand runs every hour and sounds like a flushing toilet for about five minutes, so make sure your giftee is OK with that, and they may want to add a dolly ($60 from Lettuce Grow, or maybe you can find a cheaper one on Amazon) to ensure easy navigation. It is fairly immobile when filled with water. For detailed maintenance needs, check out my full review. I have now been using the system for a couple of growing seasons and still consider it a great buy.
