Spurs fans have made their frustration clear on multiple occasions this season.
They chanted “Tottenham are boring, boring” during the goalless draw against Frank’s former side Brentford last week, while players were also booed after the draw with Sunderland.
After the final whistle against Bournemouth, Pallina and defender Micky van de Ven exchanged words with the traveling Tottenham fans, after more shouts and comments directed at the team.
Full-back Pedro Porro also had to be persuaded to stop a fight with fans by goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario.
“I thought the traveling fans were great and supported us throughout the game,” Frank said.
He added: “The players are frustrated, and I am frustrated.
“We are all hurting, the fans are hurting. This is completely normal. That is why football is emotional. It is very painful for everyone involved at Tottenham.”
“The fans are showing their frustration and we understand that,” added midfielder Palinha, who was on loan for a season from Bayern Munich and scored a stunning goal from a back kick against the Cherries.
“We’re trying to get the wins we deserve in my opinion. It’s hard to talk a lot about momentum because when you lose it just seems like words.”
“I just want to say keep supporting because the wins will come. It’s frustrating as I said. I felt like we were the best team on the field.”
Richarlison hit the woodwork and Van de Ven was denied by a brilliant save from Djordje Petrovic, but the reality is that Spurs overall have fewer shots than ever under Frank.
Their 16 chances against the Cherries took the season average for shots per game in the Premier League to 10.2 – but that is still their lowest average of any season on record from 1997-98.
Despite finishing just outside the relegation zone, their average was 13.
“We were the only team on the field that wanted to win the game,” Balenha said.
“Football is like that. Tomorrow is another day. We need to keep up the pressure. We worked hard to get the wins.
He added: “Today and tomorrow things may be very difficult, but in football we cannot think too much about what happened.”
“To lose in the last minute like they did, they will feel a huge loss,” former England midfielder Danny Murphy told BBC Sport.
“There are games that Tottenham lost this season in which they played poorly and deserved to lose. Today was much better, but I don’t know what consolation there is for Tottenham fans at the moment.”
It won’t get any easier for Frank or Tottenham, with an FA Cup third round clash against in-form Aston Villa on Saturday before a home derby clash with relegation-threatened West Ham on January 17.
