📌 Here’s what you’ll learn:

Tom McKibben will play in the Masters for the first time and also qualified for the Hong Kong Open after winning the Hong Kong Open by seven shots on Sunday.

The 22-year-old from Northern Ireland was a model of consistency all week at Fanling, leading from the first round to victory in the prestigious Asian Tour event in dominant fashion.

Belfast-born McKibben, who has won once on the European Tour in 2023 and now plays on the LIV Golf Tour, shot an official course-record 60 on the opening day Thursday to spark his title reign.

In warm and overcast conditions on Sunday, and McKibbin, leading MJ Maguire by one shot overnight, shot a 63 in the final round to finish on 27 under par.

He shot eight birdies in his final round including five in his final nine holes.

“I’ve dreamed of doing this since I was a little kid, and that dream comes true if you train hard enough,” he said.

McKibbin is a clubmate of five-time major winner Rory McIlroy, the current Masters champion.

Peter Uihlein finished second at 20 and fellow American Maguire tied for third by another shot.

The Hong Kong Open is one of the most prestigious international events on the 2025 Asian Tour, and is financed by LIV Golf, which is backed by Saudi Arabia.

It is also one of a select number of National Open Championships around the world that have been given qualifying status for next year’s Masters at Augusta and The Open Championship at Royal Birkdale.
