βœ… Key idea:

Williams was selected for the British and Irish Lions tour this summer, but after impressing in a pre-tour warm-up match against Argentina, he was forced to return home after sustaining a hamstring injury in the first match on Australian soil against the Western Force, having scored two tries.

His departure from Kingsholm will come with Wales teammates Jack Morgan and Dewi Leake joining the Western Ospreys Country Club for the 2025-26 season.

β€œTomos Williams will leave Gloucester Rugby at the end of the 2025-26 season,” a statement issued on December 16 read.

β€œAfter impressing at Kingsholm, Williams was offered a new contract to remain at the club after the end of the season, but has instead chosen to pursue a new challenge elsewhere.

β€œThe Welshman will leave with the best wishes of everyone at the club when the time comes, but in the meantime, he is fully committed to finishing his time at Gloucester Rugby at the highest level.”

Gloucester also announced at the same time that former academy graduate Dan Robson, 33, will return to Kingsholm next season, 10 years after his departure in 2015.

The midfielder previously made 80 appearances for Gloucester, where he began his career, before leaving for Wasps and spending seven years there until his death in 2022. He has been with top 14 French club Pau for the past three seasons.
