Former Tottenham goalkeeper Paul Robinson, commentating on the match for BBC Radio 5 Live, said at the time: “I’ve never seen that on a football pitch.

“It would be soul-devastating for Kinski. I wouldn’t be surprised if he was crying. It’s a hard thing to deal with.”

“It’s selfish on the coach’s part. He knows he won’t be here for long.

“This is clearly out of self-preservation and without regard for the young goalkeeper. The coach certainly did not help his cause.”
