Tottenham manager: ‘The wrong person at the wrong time’ – but if not Tudor then who?

Spurs may choose to look further, but their current options, within the parameters of the search as they were a month ago, appear limited.

When Tottenham initially began their search for a replacement for Frank, who was sacked after less than eight months in charge, former Marseille coach Roberto De Zerbe, former Borussia Dortmund manager Edin Terzic, and former Red Bull Leipzig manager Marco Rose were among other potential short-term options.

De Zerbe, the former Brighton coach, left his position as Marseille manager by mutual consent after just under two years, three days before Tottenham confirmed the appointment of Tudor.

Terzic has remained unemployed since he asked Dortmund to “terminate his contract with immediate effect” in June 2024, after leading the club to the Champions League final.

Rose was dismissed from coaching Leipzig in March 2025, after winning 72 of the 127 matches he led and lifting the German Cup in 2023.

Within the Premier League, Oliver Glasner, Andoni Iraola and Marco Silva are among the names who will be available this summer – but would any of them be willing to leave their clubs early to help Tottenham’s cause?

Glasner, the FA Cup-winning manager, has confirmed he will leave Crystal Palace this summer, but it is understood his immediate future was thrown into doubt in February amid a string of poor results.

Bournemouth have reportedly been appointed, external Open contract talks with Iraola in a bid to stave off interest from Crystal Palace, Tottenham and Manchester United.

Meanwhile, Fulham boss Tony Khan said he was confident, external Silva will stay at the club “for a long time”.
