Troy Deeney’s Team of the Week: Sills, Gabriel, Anderson, Wharton, Summerville, Pedro

Andre (Wolves): Yes, he scored the winner against Liverpool on Tuesday, but he is an outlet. He had to train a lot with Liverpool’s pressure, especially in the first half. He did a great job for the team. On the odd occasion, he was able to get going – moving forward with speed and determination, and managing to score a goal. He was a big part of the Wolves’ revival.

Declan Rice (Arsenal): Do I need to say anything else? Rice is a guy who is always in the right zone. The ball always breaks for him. He looks tired, but then manages to do a lung-busting run. It was an excellent performance from Rice against Brighton. He controlled and dictated the field.

Elliot Anderson (Nottingham Forest): It was one of those performances that makes you think he could possibly be at Manchester City one day. The goal was a great strike, and he broke up the play really well. He also managed to commit 25 fouls in the match, but he never received a card! I think he will be a good replacement for Rodri one day. If Manchester City can’t get Rodri back to where he was in terms of fitness, they will need Anderson alongside him, or move Rodri and put Anderson in his place.

Adam Wharton (Crystal Palace): He plays forward and helps score goals. What separates him from other players in the Premier League is that he plays with one or two touches, and plays further forward than anyone else I can think of. He is not afraid to make mistakes. His assist for Jurgen Strand Larsen’s goal in the 3-1 win over Tottenham on Thursday was impressive. His performance in the half-turn and ball to Ismaila Sarr was also impressive. I wonder if Palace can keep him moving forward?
