Tudor fumes at ‘home rule’ as Spurs leave in ‘serious emergency’

Tudor, a two-time Serie A champion as a player with Juventus, is gaining first-hand experience of how Tottenham have been a very inconsistent team this season, struggling domestically but progressing well in the Champions League with a two-legged tie against Atletico Madrid in the next round of 16.

A second-half capitulation saw Tottenham lose 4-1 at home to leaders Arsenal in Tudor’s first match, but the manner of their defeat at Craven Cottage may be even more worrying.

“We want Tottenham back” was one of the chants chanted by Tottenham supporters, on another miserable day for them.

Speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live, former Tottenham goalkeeper Joe Hart summed up the sentiment and said: “It’s serious, really serious.

“After 28 games so far, they are looking at the table with 29 points.

“That’s the only thing they can focus on this season. They’re obviously enjoying the Champions League, but when it comes to the league it’s about collecting as many points as possible.”

For Tudor and Tottenham, 10 league games remain, starting with Crystal Palace at home on Thursday, before the first of their two European matches with Atletico.

Tudor added: “We have to forget this match and focus on training.” “We need to stay calm, believe in what we are doing in training, go out and stick together.

“The problems are more complex [than attitude and commitment] The second half was better, but the first half was not enough.

“There are problems here, big problems.”
