The Integrity of Joseph Chambers, 11.20pm, Film 4

Their previous collaboration, The Killing of Two Lovers, was full of barely suppressed menace. Director Robert Machoyan and actor Clayne Crawford’s latest film is equally unsettling, as Crawford’s inexperienced deer hunter heads out into the woods alone for the first time — and bad things happen. Like Raymond Carver’s story or the films of Kelly Reichardt, it is a haunting, haunting story of an ordinary man placed in an extraordinary situation he cannot handle, a takedown of hackneyed masculinity.
