Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man (Tom Harper, 2026), Netflix
Whether the Birmingham-set crime drama needs another outing after six series is a moot point, but Tommy Shelby returns to the brood in style one last time. Creator/writer Steven Knight and director Tom Harper keep things reassuringly familiar (glowing skylines, outdated songs, random acts of violence) but now it’s 1940, and the Nazis are coming. While Tommy (Cillian Murphy) is holed up in a crumbling mansion haunted by the ghosts of his past, his reckless son and heir, Duke (Barry Keoghan), forms an alliance with British fascist John Beckett (the wonderful Tim Roth), to flood the country with counterfeit currency. Only Tommy can stop them. Simon Wardle
In the Camera (Khaled Talk 2023)11.10pm, BBC Two
The travails of an actor doomed to a series of humiliating tests could be the subject of comedy (see The Wonder Man). But in Nakash Khaled’s satirical drama, it becomes the stuff of nightmares. Nabhan Rizwan stars as Azan as Aden, first seen as a bloodied corpse in a police show, who seems disconcertingly detached in the face of the awkwardness and false honesty of his profession. When he is hired by a therapist to play the dead son of a grieving mother, his grip on reality begins to slip. The same goes for the film itself, which seems increasingly uninhibited. Southwest
