💡 Here’s what you’ll learn:
Nine bodies in a Mexican morgue
9.20pm, BBC One
US authorities in Mexico demand answers about Flight CBZ517: Was the plane legitimate? Flashbacks show the moment when the survivors discover the big secret behind the incident for themselves, making them believe they know who the traitor is. Meanwhile – you guessed it! – Another passenger inhales it. Great fun in the movie Airplane from Anthony Horowitz. Holly Richardson
Bettany Hughes Treasures of the World
7pm on Channel 4
In this episode, Hughes is in Uzbekistan, the center of the ancient Silk Road and former Soviet republic. In the city of Termez, you get to know Alexander the Great, before heading to Chorasmia to learn about sun worship. Then she saw the world’s first camel statuette in Bukhara. Human resources
The Weakest Link: Private Redemption
8.35pm, BBC One
This special episode of the game show, now hosted by the ubiquitous Romesh Ranganathan, gives previously underachieving celebrity contestants a chance to restore their reputation. Tim Vine and Donna Preston are among first-time losers who are once again trying to help charity. Phil Harrison
Romesh Ranganathan’s parents’ evening
At 9.35pm on ITV1
Her son’s name may be in the title, but Shanthi Ranganathan is the MVP of this comedy game, often besting Romesh as she tallies the scores. The father-son teams being questioned this week are Alex Brooker and his mother Elaine, Jeff Brazier and his son Bobby, and perhaps the most famous celebrities: Janet Ellis and Sophie Ellis-Bextor. Graeme Virtue
The intruder
9.45pm, BBC 4
It’s the second and final double bill of France’s most fascinating psychological thriller about a scheming babysitter. Paula is arrested for the murder of her neighbor Allen – and the fact that Paula was having an affair with Allen’s husband is not cool. But she insists that Tess – who is still looking after her children in her home – is the real culprit. Human resources
Movie choices
The Twits, available now on Netflix
The first animated film resulting from Netflix’s purchase of Roald Dahl’s back catalog takes the book’s cruel, disgusting, joking couple and pits them against a group of resourceful American kids. Margo Martindale and Johnny Vegas voice Mr. and Mrs. Tweet, whose dream of opening an amusement park falls in love with Bisha Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, the dean of the local orphanage. There’s plenty of belching and farting – and the odd exploding bottom – to remind you of Dahl’s penchant for earthy physical comedy, before hugging and learning. Simon Wardle
The List, 9pm, Channel 4
Revenge is a dish best served with potato confit and juicy beef. Fortunately, Chef Julian Slowick (a steely Ralph Fiennes) is an esteemed master of fine dining. Unfortunately, the 12 guests chosen to join him for a meal on his private island all have dark deeds in their past for which Slowick will punish them. Anya Taylor-Joy plays the cuckoo-in-the-nest, Margot, who is Tyler’s (Nicholas Hoult) gourmand gourmand girlfriend but is not what she appears. Mark Mylod’s dark comedy-drama is a brilliant mix – from elaborate food to mounting fear as diners see what the next course brings. Southwest
