As TV viewers become familiar with the character of Monroe the Rabbit, this is a timely journey through the life and times of Nick Cave. Along the way, Irvine Welsh, Bella Freud, regular collaborator Mick Harvey and many others explore Cave’s transcendental and reparative art. Particularly fascinating and poignant is the section dealing with the aftermath of Cave’s son Arthur’s death and the making of his Ghosteen album. Aardman’s animation (which premiered on Netflix) is typically charming and inventive. Robin is a bird raised by a family of mice, but she usually thwarts their thieves with her clumsy behavior.
