Phil Collins: The Ages – In Conversation
11.30pm on BBC Two
Zoe Ball spends half an hour talking to the musician who she claims was once the “hardest working man” in rock music. Their conversation is a laid-back armchair affair, and includes voice notes from the likes of Robert Plant and Genesis bandmate Mike Rutherford, as well as archival footage from the gig. One big revelation is that Collins now has a 24-hour live-in nurse, after kidney and knee problems led to her spending months in hospital. Will he perform again? He doesn’t seem convinced. Gladiators
5.45pm, BBC One
There are 11 rotating challenges, including the final bonus Destruction (reckless wall-smashing fun). But surely everyone would prefer the Duel, AKA The One With the Big Cotton Buds? He’s on the roster this week as four other competitors compete against the wrestlers. Graeme Virtue
Michael McIntyre’s Big Show
6.45pm, BBC One
The comedy’s cheerful, old-school mix of entertainment and stunts hit its short run nicely this year, providing enough viral moments to last all week. It’s likely to get worse here when Frank Skinner subjects himself to Remember Me, in which a not-so-famous gambler is revealed as a figure from his past. Jack Seale
The Masked Singer
7pm on ITV1
Despite her rousing rendition of As Long As He Needs Me, Monkey Business – also known as Kate Nash – was knocked out of the competition, along with Arctic Fox/Anton Du Beke, after a unique rendition of Woman in Love. Six contestants remain – but who will make it this week? Human resources
Waiting to go out
9.20pm, BBC One
Prison philosophy teacher Dan (Josh Finnan) is escalating to the point that his obsession with leaving the gas stove on may be about to ruin his entire life. Moreover, he continues to battle painful memories of his father and asks his mother difficult questions. The penultimate episode of Dennis Kelly’s beautiful drama. Human resources
Blackshore
9.20pm, BBC 4
The premise (a detective returns to his home city to solve crimes and fight personal demons) isn’t particularly original. But this thriller was compelling. In the penultimate episode, the Blackwater Whiskey Festival comes around and the case seems closed. But DS Lucy (Lisa Dwan) fears there is more to the story. Phil Harrison

Fire, 11pm, BBC4
The second film in German director Christian Petzold’s series of films based on the four elements, this lively 2023 tale uses the threat of wildfires to focus its protagonist’s mind. Selfish author Leon (Thomas Schubert) visits the holiday home of his photographer friend Felix (Langston Uebel) to quietly work on his book. However, Paula Beer’s Nadja is already staying there, and with Felix teaming up with local lifeguard David (Enno Trebs), the immature Leon reacts badly. But does he really need these realistic dramas to make great fiction? Simon Wardle
