Joe Gibbs Racing driver Chase Briscoe recently showed his gratitude to teammate Ty Gibbs for helping him advance to the Championship Four race. Gibbs expressed his appreciation to his teammate for sending him a surprise gift and shared a story on his Instagram account.
The driver of the No. 54 Toyota Camry XSE worked to improve his teamwork skills and showed dedicated work during the Talladega Superspeedway race. The YellaWood 500 was held on October 19 on the 2.66-mile triple track, and Gibbs pushed Briscoe to victory.
Chase Briscoe qualified second for the main event but lost several places in the first stage. However, he quickly recovered on the second stage and took the stage win. Later, during an overtime restart, the Hendrick Motorsports drivers had control of the race. While leading the race, Kyle Larson failed to get fuel. It disrupted the flow of the race and gave Bubba Wallace the lead.
Then, Chase Briscoe found an opening and moved into the lead. Ty Gibbs was behind him and pushed Wallace out, giving Briscoe a clear path forward. Reflecting on this, the No. 19 Toyota driver paid tribute to his teammate in the post-race interview and has now surprised him with a gift package.
Briscoe sent 108 Coors Banquet beers and a new boat from his sponsor, Bass Pro Shops, to Ty Gibbs. With a handwritten note that says:
โTy, I couldn’t get the real boat but hopefully this and the beer will be a little compensation for last week.โ – Chase. P.S. Let me know what kind it is [of] Fishing poles.โ
Ty Gibbs appreciated Briscoe’s efforts and responded:

Briscoe and Gibbs are both scheduled to compete in the Xfinity 500 scheduled for Sunday, October 26, 2025 at Martinsville Speedway. Team Penske and Hendrick Motorsports drivers will have an uphill battle with JGR’s Christopher Bell to advance to the Phoenix race.
‘He wasn’t a great teammate’: Dell Jr. spoke candidly about Ty Gibbs’ confrontation with teammate Denny Hamlin
In September, Joe Gibbs Racing driver Ty Gibbs got into a confrontation with teammate Denny Hamlin during a race at New Hampshire Speedway. Reflecting on the same, Dale Earnhardt Jr. spoke about the driver of the No. 54 Toyota Camry XSE on his podcast, Download Dell Junior.
On lap 110 of the 301-lap race, Hamlin and Gibbs were battling for 11th place. Then, as the driver of the No. 11 Camry XSE was exiting Turn 4, he made contact with Gibbs and let him spin onto the track. The NASCAR veteran was angry at his disqualified teammate for picking a fight and affecting his chances of advancing.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. closely analyzed the situation and shared his perspective:
“Was it necessary for Denny to smash him into the wall? Yeah, probably not. But damn, we gotta look at Ty.” [Gibbs]the date. “He wasn’t a great teammate at times.”
As a result, Ty Gibbs’ day resulted in a DNF and the 301-lap race concluded in P35. Meanwhile, Denny Hamlin crossed the finish line in 12th, and Team Penske driver Ryan Blaney took the win.
