Fury retired after back-to-back defeats to former undisputed heavyweight champion Usyk.
The 37-year-old, who has won 34 wins in 37 matches including one draw, was in good form in his first press conference since announcing his return on Tuesday in London.
He tickled his opponent Mahmudov during their encounter and said he wanted to “make boxing great again”.
Fury intends to win a world title during his return and denied claims that he might find it difficult to sell 60,000 tickets at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium alongside the little-known Mahmudov.
The Morcombe fighter spent two and a half years out of the ring in his 20s due to a doping ban and mental health issues, but returned in 2018 after losing more than 50kg and became world champion again in 2020.
“I’m 37 years old, and I’ve been inactive for 16 months, which is a huge factor,” he said.
“I did it before three years ago outside the ring, but I was only 29. Now I’m an older person, really retired.”
“I brought the X Factor to this game and there’s no one alive today who can bring more X Factor to boxing than Tyson Fury,” he added.
