Air raid sirens accompanied the arrival of 36-year-old Mahmudov, before a suit-clad Fury headed onto the stage, smiling broadly.

“He’s back,” Fury, who arrived overnight from a training camp in Thailand, announced.

“I feel refreshed. I feel good,” he said. “If I were in decline I would say so. I’d be the first to say it.”

Fury has not fought in Britain since December 2022, when he stopped Dereck Chisora at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium to retain his World Boxing Council title.

He has a record of 34 wins from 37 fights, including 24 by knockout, along with two defeats to Usyk and a draw with Deontay Wilder.

Fury added: “Bring a circus. Bring an entourage. Bring entertainment. Bring movement. Bring cameras,” stressing that he is still in his “prime youth.”

When the Gypsy King was asked about the prediction, he predicted a sixth-round knockout “with a right hand.”

At the same time, Mahmudov maintained his respect and did not get drawn into insults or predictions.

He has won 21 of his 23 professional contests, with 19 of his victories coming by knockout. His last match was a victory over Britain’s Dave Allen in October 2025.

Khamudov, nicknamed the Lion, recalled meeting Fury in Canada about a decade ago and described him as a “legend,” but said he was now focused on building his own “legacy.”

The confrontation was well-intentioned. “You’re a big boy, aren’t you?” Fury said with a smile, and the pair closed their message with a handshake.
