UEFA Cup: Stakes high as Wrexham prepare for a huge Cardiff City Cup tie

It may depend on who you believe, but bookmakers consider Wrexham the favorite to win the tie.

“Are we favourites? Home advantage, division over them, I imagine the bookies will put us as slight favourites, but I’m not worried about that either way,” Parkinson said.

“All we are focused on is our level of performance and choosing the team and seat that we feel can give our fans bragging rights in this Welsh derby.”

Barry Murphy was similarly diplomatic when it came to making a judgment call on which side wished to emerge victorious.

Barry Murphy said: “Well, they (Wrexham) are supposed to do things their own way. It’s not for me, it’s none of my business what they do.”

“But what I saw clearly from them is that they have an experienced squad full of players who have been there, done it at this level, if not higher, and they have invested heavily in that.

“But our team we think is very capable of competing with championship-level teams. So now we have a chance to go on Tuesday and show them, and that’s where our intention will be.”
