UEFA imposed a fine Tottenham Hotspur They were given a suspended ban from selling tickets after three fans made Nazi salutes towards Eintracht Frankfurt fans.
The incident occurred during a Champions League match – which Tottenham won 2-0 – at the German club’s Deutsche Bank Park on January 28.
UEFA said it issued the ban due to the “racist and/or discriminatory behavior of its fans” and was “suspended for a trial period of one year”.
Tottenham were fined 26,000 pounds (30,000 euros) by UEFA, in addition to 1,966 pounds (2,250 euros) for objects thrown by their fans.
Tottenham said the “behaviour of a small number of fans” was “completely abhorrent” and issued banning orders to them.
“We can confirm that the three individuals found to be making Nazi salutes towards Eintracht Frankfurt fans have been identified and have been suspended indefinitely under the club’s sanctions and ban policy,” Tottenham said.
He added: “The club stands firm against all forms of discrimination and has therefore taken the strongest possible action. The disgusting behavior of a minority of alleged fans that night in no way reflects the values of our club and its supporters.”
Last week, Real Madrid launched an investigation after a fan made a Nazi salute before the club’s Champions League win over Benfica.
