✅ Main takeaway:

Carlos Prats believes Leon Edwards is “finished” and questioned whether the former UFC champion still has the guts to compete.

Edwards will face his welterweight rival Pratts in the UFC 322 tournament on Saturday at Madison Square Garden in an attempt to return to the winning list after the first consecutive losses in his career.

The 34-year-old Briton is considered a bit of an underdog against Bratts and the Brazilian has criticized Edwards’ mentality.

“It’s over, you can’t teach the heart,” Prats said.

“If you give up once, you’ll always give up. When things get tough, he starts giving up.

“He doesn’t do a lot of things to try to change the game.

“I want to see how he can fight with someone who’s really trying to hurt him.”

Edwards and 32-year-old Pratis went head-to-head in Thursday’s press conference, with the Englishman responding to his opponent’s criticism.

“He’s done nothing in the sport at all,” Edwards said. “Saturday night I will prove my case.”

The fight went off without incident, and Edwards is already planning a return to the UFC title.

He has a three-way plan that includes a win over Pratts before a fight at UFC London in March, and then potentially getting a title shot against the champion in the summer of 2026.
