✅ **What You’ll Learn**:
The 30-year-old is excited to fight on home turf after bouts in the US and France in his last two UFC bouts.
“It will be a huge change for me,” he said.
“I fought a Des Moines local in Des Moines, so I was away there, and then I fought a Belgian guy in Paris.
“It would be nice to hear the rally for change.”
Jones hopes the win will push him into contention for the top 15 opponents in the lightweight rankings.
“When I came back to the UFC, I had three main fights, to secure my spot in the UFC, and then I would get a top 15 finish.
“If I beat Axel Sola on March 21, I will call up a top 15 contender.
“If I don’t get one, I’ll get eliminated in the top 15.”
It’s a possibility the UFC mentioned in passing, Jones said.
He added: “They are interested in seeing me be among the top 15 players.”
“I’m happy to win the points and beat him in three five-minute rounds.
“I’m always looking to end the match with the thrill of putting him away, but if I can get the better of him I will.
“If I finish it, they will offer me a top 15 fight in the next fight.”
If Jones earns a place in the top 15, he will become the second Welshman to be ranked in the UFC, having followed in Jack Shore’s footsteps when he beat Timur Valeev in March 2022.
