📌 Here’s what you’ll learn:

“There is no one above him except the world champion. Bilal couldn’t knock me out, so Islam, try to knock me out. I’m telling you now, I’m the best in the world.”

“You have a duty to defend that belt against the best welterweight in the world and you’re looking at him.

“I will take this throne from you. There is no one standing in my way, my future, or my dreams, so sign the contract and I will see you soon.”

American Muhammad, 37, opted to knock out Machado Jarry in the first round, but found little success against a longer-range opponent.

But Muhammad’s efforts to turn to his grappling strengths were repeatedly thwarted.

Machado Jarry ignored his seven takedown attempts and landed 72 significant strikes to Muhammad’s 56.

But after failing to close out the bout, last week’s big knockout victories for Carlos Prats and Michael Morales against top contenders Leon Edwards and Shawn Brady respectively could move them ahead of Machado Garry in the pecking order for the title.

Makhachev’s loss to former champion Jack Della Maddalena at UFC 322 last week crowned him a new champion of the division.

The 34-year-old Russian is now a two-weight champion and has not lost an MMA fight since 2015, his only career loss to Adriano Martinez.

In the main event Arman Tsarukyan protected his No. 1 lightweight ranking by submitting Dan Hooker in the second round.

Armenian Tsarukyan is seeking to achieve his second title after he was forced to withdraw from his first opportunity in January during the week of the fight due to injury.

Tsarukyan, 29, made short work of the 34-year-old Hooker, taking the New Zealander to the ground before working his way into an arm-triangle submission.

Lightweight champion Ilya Topuria has his pick of contenders, including Tsarukyan and Britain’s Paddy Pimblett.
