Vince McMahon reportedly did not view Sting as being on the same level as Undertaker

The Undertaker faced many major opponents during his legendary career. He stood across the ring from The Rock, Triple H, Shawn Michaels, Brock Lesnar, and many others. However, he did not have the opportunity to face Sting. When the icon joined WWE in 2014, fans thought they would finally be able to witness this dream match, but that never happened and never will.

Speaking on Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer revealed that Vince McMahon did not book this match because he did not see them on the same level. He also noted that if anyone else had been in charge, the match likely would have taken place.

“That’s Vince’s call. In hindsight, I think the answer is no. He never saw the big thing that a lot of people did. He could have done it. A lot of people wanted him to do it. I don’t think he saw Sting on Undertaker’s level. And he didn’t do it. I think if there had been someone else in charge, there would have been a very good chance he would have done it. But with Vince in charge? No,” Meltzer said. [H/T: Ringside News]

It was great to see Undertaker take on Sting.
