VTuber Shondo, also known as “fallenshadow,” is breaking his silence following the recent health scare

Twitch streamer and VTuber Shondo, also known as “fallenshadow,” has broken her silence and shared an update, in the wake of the recent health scare, writing that she was “suffering from a catatonic/psychotic episode.” For context, Shondu left the online community in question on October 31, 2025, after sharing two X posts, in which she stated that she was in the hospital after having an “episode.”

On November 4, 2025, VTuber updated the community with a detailed post on Elon Musk’s platform, stating that it was safe and “in better shape.” While apologizing to her fans for her “recent behavior,” Shondu revealed that she had a schizoaffective episode:

“Hey everyone! This is a fallen shadow. I’m safe and doing better, but I felt the need to reach out to you about some really important matters before I resume my internet blackout. First and foremost, I’m so sorry to anyone I’ve felt concerned about my recent behavior. I recently had a schizoaffective episode. I think this was caused by stress and lack of sleep and rest due to the long shondothon, but I really didn’t realize there was a problem until I had one. Catatonic/psychotic and had to be hospitalized briefly.”

Furthermore, the VTuber stated that she “wasn’t in the clear” and that she “really had no idea” when she went live on Twitch in the early hours of October 31, 2025:

“I would like to sincerely apologize to anyone I felt concerned or frightened by the broadcast that happened in the early hours of October 31 and the way it was cut short. I was not clear and I really have no idea how to go live. If anything I said or did scared you, I am very sorry, and I hope you know that the things I may say or do during these times have no substance and are just random mental chatter. All I can do is assure you that I am fine, safe and mostly embarrassed by it all and I will do my best “I’ll do my best to make sure this doesn’t happen again.”

Shondu’s social media post continued, saying that her “family has asked her to take a break from the internet” for the time being. Furthermore, the virtual Twitch streamer stated that she was “feeling much better,” adding that she plans to begin sessions with her new therapist and psychiatrist:

“My family has asked me to take a break from the internet right now and spend some time with them and get some rest and settle myself properly again. I feel a lot better than I have in a while already. I’m going to touch some grass, eat healthy, and start sessions with my new therapist and psychiatrist in a week or two. I really want to get better.”
