✅ Here’s what you’ll learn:

Earlier this summer, WRU Director of Rugby, Dave Redden, ruled out any coach combining club and country duties permanently by insisting Wales was not a long-term part-time position.

Sherratt and Wilson gave up their head coaching positions with Cardiff and Harlequins to take up permanent assistant positions at Wales.

In return, Patchell, Jones and Lydiat will initially feature on a temporary basis this campaign, on loan before returning to their professional sides.

“Bringing in Duncan, Dan and Rhys in the fall to work alongside Steve, Danny and Matt gives us a good balance in the coaching team,” Redden said.

He added: “We said at the beginning that we might have some temporary appointments and this is the right choice for us at this stage.”

Reece Thomas, Adam Jones and Gethin Jenkins participated in the summer tour of Japan but have returned to their clubs.

Warren Gatland resigned as head coach in February with no members of his backroom staff in the Wales senior men’s squad.

Rob Hawley and Mike Forshaw have left the Welsh Rugby Union (WRU), while the position of former forwards coach Jonathan Humphreys has not been mentioned.

Neil Jenkins will continue full-time with the WRU as a skills coach, working with players throughout the men’s game.
