📌 Here’s what you’ll learn:
The presence of Jasper Wiese meant Cracknell made several starts on the wing and off the bench, but the South African’s strong No. 8 left Welford Road in 2024.
Cracknell stepped up and started 23 times last season as he helped the Tigers reach the Prem final, while he has started at number eight in four of five outings in 2025-25 with one outing as a substitute.
He is tasked with being the disruptive force in a league that is relentless for a club that prides itself on the strength of the pack.
“He brings people back by carrying the ball and tackling it,” Wales teammate Nicky Smith said.
“It’s great to have him around and I have no doubt he will show what he has been doing for Leicester.”
Tandy earned his chance as Wales coach through his exploits as a defensive coach and, facing a poor physical Argentina side, he selected a man who relished collisions.
Pumas hooker Julian Montoya could find himself on the receiving end of a blow from a man who made a big impression on him at Welford Road.
“I love Crackers. He’s a great guy and I’m really happy for him,” said the 32-year-old, who left for Pau at the end of last season.
“He was fantastic at Leicester with the way he played and acted like a man.
“I have great respect for him and I’m not at all surprised by his selection.
“He carries the ball strongly in every match, tackles it, and is relentless with his physical strength. He is a strong player.”
Now, almost 12 years after heading to Colwyn Bay with the RGC, Cracknell will try to show that on the testing stage.
