Tandy believes Deaves will not be intimidated by facing the All Blacks.
“It’s on the biggest stage ever, but I have complete confidence in Harry,” Tandy said.
He added, “He will not change, but he will adapt to what we are trying to do. I am excited to see him go.”
“What a story to be up against against the All Blacks, it will be a great day for him, his family and the community.
“Whoever Harry plays at the weekend, it won’t make a difference. He has the freedom to go and attack the game. He likes to be aggressive, competitive and has no fear.”
Deaves follows an illustrious line of Ospreys open-side players who have graced the international game such as Tipuric, Marty Holah, Sam Underhill and Jack Morgan.
“We’ve been fortunate with the seven races at Ospreys, and it’s been a real conveyor belt over the years,” Tipuric said.
“I’m very happy that Devsey has been honoured. He’s had this opportunity on the international stage to show everyone what he’s capable of.”
The Pontyclun will come out in force to support their favorite son.
“It will be a wonderful day, one we will never forget,” Probyn said.
“I never doubted he would play for Wales. It was just a matter of time but I didn’t expect it to come so soon.
“We had tears in our eyes when it was announced he was joining the team, so it will be overwhelming on Saturday.”
Whatever happens, Davis aims to celebrate in his usual way.
“He told me he wanted to come back to the club on Saturday night after the game,” Probyn said.
“He can’t wait to be back among his friends.”
Deaves and Pontyclun wouldn’t have it any other way.
