📌 Main takeaway:

Combat and character only take you so far in international rugby circles and New Zealand were undoubtedly a step forward in sophistication and quality.

The victory extended the All Blacks’ winning streak over Wales to 34 matches, a run dating back to 1953.

Wales may have been able to outscore their opponents for 50 minutes, but they conceded 50 at home for the third time this year, after England and Argentina produced half-centuries at the Principality Stadium.

The All Blacks also scored more than 50 points for the third successive match in Cardiff.

There was a defiant and stubborn defense on the pitch, but New Zealand managed seven tries, with Damien McKenzie’s boot adding 17 points, while Wales missed 38 tackles.

Match statistics showed New Zealand dominating. The All Blacks made 1,362 meters off 167 carries, compared to Wales’ 593 off 77. Tandy made 223 tackles, compared to New Zealand’s 85.

Despite an all-out Wales effort, the All Blacks repeatedly crossed the line with powerful winger Caleb Clarke and dynamic number eight Wallace City, emphasizing how bigger, faster and stronger the visitors looked.

“Our power play was solid,” All Blacks coach Robertson said.

“We are ranked first and second in the world in many areas and one of them is our power play.

“We knew it would take a while to break them down and they would keep at it for 50 or 60 minutes, but fatigue would set in and we could make the most of it.”

Wales have now amassed 127 points in three matches next November, with world champions South Africa arriving at the Principality Stadium next weekend.
