Asked if he would do the same, Johnson said the House had already done its job of passing a short-term funding package.
“I’m not promising anyone anything,” Johnson said.
Johnson also rejected the idea of congressional leaders coming together and negotiating a compromise on extending enhanced tax breaks that would make coverage more affordable.

“We don’t take four actions, four leaders in a back room and make a deal and take it to the American people,” Johnson said. “I won’t be a part of that.”
