She said during a news conference in Minneapolis that she discussed the incident with Trump and suggested that the president change his mind about postponing increased federal law enforcement if more violence occurs.

“If they don’t figure out how to protect our law enforcement officers and protect our Coast Guard members, we’re going to have to step in and protect those individuals,” she said.
A truck driver who supported a U.S. Coast Guard base in the San Francisco Bay Area — the site of previous protests against federal immigration agents — was shot and wounded by law enforcement officers, authorities said Friday.
The driver was taken into custody for mental health evaluation after he “attempted to use the vehicle as a weapon to crash into the Coast Guard base in Alameda” on Thursday evening, the US Department of Homeland Security posted on X. A bystander was struck by shrapnel and was treated at a hospital and released, the statement said.
