Watford Women will play their final two home games of the season at Vicarage Road after a 14-0 win left them in pole position to earn promotion to WSL League 2.

Maddison Perry scored five goals and Coral Haines contributed a hat-trick as they beat Billericay Town in Sunday’s match in Essex.

Megan Chandler (two goals), Poppy Wilson, Annie Rossiter, Flo Five and Lucy Lyon were also on the scoresheet, with Lyon finding the back of the net with a stunning overhead kick.

They are one point clear at the top of the National Women’s Premier League South with five points to play – and have a game in hand with second-placed Plymouth Argyle.

Only two of those games will be at home, but they will face Exeter City (March 29) and Bournemouth (April 26) at Watford.

Rene Hector’s side attracted a crowd of over 2,000 to Vicarage Road for a match against Plymouth last season and will be hoping to beat that record.

“We can’t wait to return to The Vic for these two big games,” said Helen Ward, Head of Women’s Football.

“The record attendance we recorded last season is in our sights as we make the final push for promotion.”

Only the champions will automatically advance to the second division for the 2026-27 season.

The second-placed team will face a play-off against the team occupying the same position in the Northern Premier.
