The statistics make bleak reading.
With four draws and six defeats, this is the first time West Ham have gone 10 Premier League matches without a win since 11 matches between December 2006 and March 2007.
Only Bournemouth on 16 points have dropped more league points from winning positions than the Hammers’ 15, while West Ham have also failed to win any of their past five matches when scoring first.
Manager Nuno Espirito Santo, who led Nottingham Forest to Europe last season before being sacked three games into the 2025-26 season, has taken 11 points from 16 games since replacing the sacked Graham Potter in September.
This is the worst start by any West Ham manager in the Premier League era, with back-to-back wins over Newcastle and Burnley in November – Nuno’s only two successes – fading from memory quickly.
Speaking on Sky Sports, former West Ham and England goalkeeper Rob Green feels there is a need for change at the London Stadium.
Green said: “Ten games without a win and you wonder, where is the answer now? Where does West Ham go now? Where does Nuno go from here? You can’t see things continuing for much longer with results like this.”
“They need at least 30 points to have any chance of survival, and they won’t come close to that.
“I don’t see Nuno staying. I can’t see how you can go for so long without winning a game. Tonight wasn’t the worst performance by a long shot and they still haven’t gotten a result.
“It’s heartbreaking but I see no other answer. It’s looking more and more like an impossible task.”
