Thus, the 29-year-old English player became West Ham’s direct leader in the number of goals scored in the Premier League (102 – 62 goals and 40 assists), surpassing Michail Antonio (101).

He has also scored and assisted in 11 different Premier League matches for West Ham, the most of any player at the club, surpassing Paolo Di Canio’s 10 goals.

“This is the best I’ve seen West Ham play all season,” added former defender Williams.

“The Hammers dominated the game, especially in the first half. They played with more energy and creativity, and Crescencio Summerville and Jarrod Bowen were both very good.

“I haven’t seen much yet from the players signed in January, Tati Castellanos and Pablo, but bringing them in allows Bowen to play in his preferred position, where he looks most comfortable.

“If you look at the first goal, Bowen creates it from the wing, where he can create and score goals as well. He was the talisman today.”

Bowen, who joined the club from Hull City on the January 2020 transfer deadline, has been the club’s top scorer in four of the past five seasons.
