California: “Danny did a fantastic job. He understood where Rangers were and what he did. He conducted himself as a Rangers coach should. He spoke well in the media.

“Did he play his best football? Maybe not, but he got results and that’s the key and that’s the important part is winning football matches and he did it quickly.

“There are a lot of good feelings around the club, the fans and the owners trying to do the right things. They made mistakes, and the owners, they admitted it and changed it.

“Obviously they’ve done some good work, but I think they need a scorer who can really make an impact at the top of the pitch for them as well.

“Rangers are happy in the backfield, quietly doing their job. Obviously they’ve been missing Conor Barron for a few weeks and bringing in a midfielder was key, and they’ve brought in a left-back as well.”

BM: “Obviously the manager has come in and he’s got the win on the board and I think that’s the most important thing for any manager.

“It brought real solidarity to the team and started to bring the fans back along with what he was doing on the pitch. They did some work very early on as well, which I’m sure he will be happy with.”

“Once you start seeing more and more players coming in, you’ll start to see the type of team he has as well. If they can keep minding their own business and winning games, they’ll be ahead.”

pH: “Since the new manager arrived, he has done a fantastic job. He has organized them, he has trained them well. So, they are in a good position in the title race.

“Maybe a few weeks ago, when Hearts beat them, they were out of the title race, but now they seem to be really back in it. It’s fantastic.”
