📌 **What You’ll Learn**:

Tottenham Winger Wilson Odubert will undergo surgery after tearing the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee, his club has confirmed.

The 21-year-old French player suffered the injury during the first half of his team’s 2-1 home loss to Newcastle United on Tuesday.

Tottenham said: “Wilson will see a specialist next week before undergoing surgery, and will then begin his rehabilitation with our medical staff.”

It is the latest in a series of long-term injury problems for Tottenham, who are searching for a new manager after Thomas Frank was sacked on Wednesday.

Tottenham lost strikers Mohamed Quddus and Richarlison, midfielders Rodrigo Bentancur and Lukas Bergvall, and defender Ben Davies to serious injuries in January.

Meanwhile, playmaker James Maddison has also been sidelined since tearing his anterior cruciate ligament in August.

Tottenham have signed Odubert from Burnley for a fee of £25m in 2024.

He has made 33 appearances for the club this season, starting 10 of the Premier League matches and six of the team’s eight Champions League group stage matches.

Tottenham are 16th in the Premier League and just five points above the relegation zone after a series of appalling performances that led to Frank’s sacking after just eight months.
