Team GB men’s footballers took a step closer to securing a place in the semi-finals of the Winter Olympics as they recorded an impressive win over Germany.
Bruce Mowatt’s world champions have now won four of their opening five matches in northern Italy, with six wins almost certain to secure a semi-final place and medals.
The Scottish quartet beat their German counterparts in both the European and World Championships last year and were rarely in danger here.
It was tied at 2-2 after three ends, and the British rink moved smoothly to a 5-2 lead in the second period, then accelerated the lead by stealing two more goals in the seventh end.
Germany were stumbling at that stage, and although they pulled one back, Mowat pulled off two more goals in the ninth end to seal the win.
The men return to the ice later on Sunday, against unbeaten Switzerland (18:05 GMT).
Before that, the British women will play their fourth match, as in-form Sweden take on their rivals (13:05) in a bid to revive their semi-final hopes.
