Team GB will send a 53-member squad to the Winter Olympics after biathletes Jack Jefferies and Shauna Pendry became the final two members of the group selected to travel to Milan-Cortina.

The team selected for the Games is larger than the 50-person squad sent to Beijing in 2022.

Jeffries and Pendry will make their Olympic debut in Italy, with Team GB returning to biathlon after not fielding athletes in the discipline four years ago.

British Head of Delegation Eve Muirhead said: “I am delighted to welcome Jack and Shauna to Team GB for the Milan Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics.”

“This moment is a testament to the hard work they have put in to achieve the dream of qualifying for that Olympic stage. Our 2026 team is now complete, and we are ready for the final push toward the Games.”

UK Sport believes Team GB can win between four and eight medals at next month’s Games.

Great Britain’s medal hopes include World Figure Skating Championships gold medalists Mia Brooks and Charlotte Banks, and freestyle skier Zoe Atkin, the women’s halfpipe world champion.

The best medal tally at a Winter Games is five, achieved in Sochi 2014 and equaled in PyeongChang four years later, but the Great Britain team returns home from Beijing in 2022 with just two medals.

The BBC will broadcast more than 450 hours of live action for the Games, which take place from Friday 6 to Sunday 22 February.
