Wolves’ next three league matches feature back-to-back home matches against Aston Villa and Liverpool before a trip to Brentford.

If Wolves lose all three of those matches to teams competing for European football next season, the maximum points they can achieve is 31.

In theory, Wolves will be relegated if Leeds pick up another point, Tottenham pick up another three points and Nottingham Forest pick up five points.

If that happens, Wolves will be relegated to the Championship with seven games remaining and break the Premier League record for the earliest time a team has been relegated.

If Wolves avoid relegation ahead of next month’s trip to Brentford, they could be relegated after a week without playing.

But with Forest facing tough away trips to Brighton and Manchester City and a home game against Fulham, that may not happen.

If Wolves maintain their current 17-point gap with 17th-placed Nottingham Forest during that period, Wolves will not be relegated until they face Leeds on April 18.
