✅ **What You’ll Learn**:

Scotland missed the chance to book their place in the Women’s T20 World Cup this summer with an emphatic loss to Bangladesh in their penultimate Super Six qualifier in Nepal.

Bangladesh, who have already qualified, won by 90 runs in Kirtipur, but Scotland’s fate is in their hands and they will reach the tournament if they beat the United States on Sunday.

The winner of Friday’s late game between the United States and Thailand will still have a chance to finish ahead of Scotland on net run rate if they also win their final match on Sunday.

Thailand face Ireland – who are level with Scotland on four points but with a better run rate in the Super Six table after beating the Netherlands – on Sunday.

The top four in the Super Six table qualify for the tournament – which is being held in England from June 12 – with Bangladesh and the Netherlands already securing their places.

In Kirtipur, Dilara Aktar and Juwiria Ferdous put on 67 for the first wicket of seven overs and this foundation was added to in explosive fashion by Bangladesh’s middle order.

Captain Nigar Sultana made an unbeaten 56 off 35 balls while Subhana Mustari smashed 47 off 23 as Bangladesh reached 191-5 off 20 balls.

Scotland’s bowling figures were not good at reading, but captain Katherine Price conceded just 20 off four overs amid the Bangladesh blitz.

In response, Darcy Carter was dismissed off the first ball of the innings and Scotland then fell to 35-5.

Megan McCall (20) and Pippa Sproule (27) added some respectability to the scorecard as the Scots slumped to 101-9 from their full allotment.

Scotland finished second in Group B in the first group stage – losing only to the Netherlands – to qualify for the Super Six and Ireland did the same from Group A, with their only defeat coming to Bangladesh.

In the Super Six stage, countries play teams they did not face in the group stage.
