England, the Euro 2025 winners, will host world champions Spain at Wembley next April in 2027 Women’s World Cup qualifiers.

Spain defeated the Lionesses in the 2023 World Cup final, but England took revenge when they beat them on penalties in the Euro 2025 final in July to retain their European title.

The two teams will meet again in Group A3 on Tuesday 14 April, with the evening kick-off date to be announced in due course.

“Spain is of course one of the best teams in the world, and facing them at Wembley again is exciting,” Lionesses coach Sarina Wegman said.

He added: “We know from the European Championship final how difficult it is to play against them, and there is a great deal of mutual respect between the two teams.”

England was drawn alongside Spain, facing Iceland and Ukraine.

The next World Cup qualifiers, which will be held in Brazil, follow the same system as the European Nations League and are divided into three levels.

Only the four group winners in League A will automatically qualify for the finals, while the remaining teams must go through the playoffs for the remaining eight spots.

“It’s a challenging group but our goal is to qualify for the World Cup, and that’s what we’re fully focused on from now on,” Wegman added. “We hope our fans will help us get one step closer to Brazil at Wembley in April.”

Information on venues and tickets for England’s other two home matches will be announced in due course.
