World Cup 2026: England will play New Zealand and Costa Rica in the final friendly matches

England will play its three World Cup group matches in the United States, where it will face Croatia in Dallas on June 17, Ghana in Boston on June 23, and Panama in New Jersey on June 27.

Tuchel’s team will travel to each location from their base in Kansas City and return after each match.

England’s final matches will be held at home before traveling to the United States at Wembley Stadium next month, where they will face Uruguay on Friday, March 27, and Japan on Tuesday, March 31.

England last met New Zealand – who won all five of their World Cup qualifying matches – in 1991, when the two teams played matches in Auckland and Wellington.

Costa Rica, which failed to qualify for the tournament this summer, tied 0-0 with England in the group stage of the 2014 World Cup, while the Three Lions won the next match 2-0 as part of their preparations for 2018.

England completed its World Cup qualifying campaign last November, achieving eight wins out of eight without conceding a single goal.
