Ramsay’s situation was further complicated by the disappearance of his beloved dog, Halo, in Mexico, with the player saying it would “continue to haunt” his family.
“I know it’s been a difficult time for him at the moment with his family,” Bellamy added.
“I think we’ve all been there at one point or another and we know how difficult that period can be… I’ve been there and anyone who has dogs, yes, I’ve been in that situation.
“It’s the most heart-wrenching feeling, so he’s got a little family to try to get through that as well.
He added: “So I feel at the moment that the best for all of us is to stay calm for a minute, you know (he is) a great person, a great player for our country, let him continue in this period.”
“I think we just need to say, look, there are other things that are more important than football, and this is one of them.”
Davies took over the captaincy in Ramsey’s absence and was joined by a fit Leeds United winger Dan James in Craig Bellamy’s 26-man squad.
An ankle problem caused the 27-year-old to withdraw from the team’s squad last month for a friendly match with England at Wembley Stadium and a qualifying match with Belgium.
His replacement, Cardiff City player Isaac Davies, will be absent from the squad, although Cardiff City midfielder Robin Colwell will retain his place.
Colwell, 23, was only called up to the October squad as a substitute, and his omission in recent months has sparked some controversy among supporters and pundits given his form in the Championship.
