Nat Sciver-Brunt hit the first century in Women’s Super League history as she helped Mumbai Indians to a 15-run win over Royal Challengers Bengaluru.

England captain Brunt plundered 16 fours and a six in a 57-ball innings off 100 not out as she helped MI to 199-4 from 20 overs, while fellow international Lauren Bell took 2-21 for RCB.

Mumbai then restricted RCB to 184-9 despite a 50-ball 90 from Richa Ghosh as Hayley Matthews, who had earlier hit 56, finished off the bowlers’ pick with a score of 3-10.

Sciver-Brunt’s all-round knock surpassed the previous WPL high scores of 99 not out and 99 by Georgia Fall and Sophie Devine respectively.

“It was a special moment to achieve this achievement, but more importantly is the progress the team has made,” said 33-year-old Scheffer-Brent.

“I was just reacting to the balls I was given. Tactically, some bowlers might be more aggressive than others.”

Sciver-Brunt is one of the best-paid players in the WPL, earning between £320,000-£330,000 having been with Mumbai since the tournament’s first season in 2023.
