The Wrexham Open will return to the north Wales city next year following the “incredible success” of this year’s tournament, which was won by Welsh player Mimi Shaw.
The ITF World Tennis Tour, the largest women’s tennis tournament held in the UK this year outside the grass court season, was held in North Wales for the first time in October.
The 2026 Wrexham Open will be held from 18 to 25 October at the Wrexham Tennis and Padel Centre.
Shaw achieved the biggest victory of her career to date, defeating Mika Stojsavljevic to win the 2025 Lexus Wrexham Open last month.
The 18-year-old from Swansea also won the doubles title with Ella MacDonald.
Tournament promoter Dave Curtin said: “It quickly became established in the town with the local community showing fantastic enthusiasm for the tournament and the other events we held alongside it during a busy and enjoyable week.”
“We saw a higher attendance than the tournament had ever attracted before, which helped make it an amazing success.”
