Wrexham News: Phil Parkinson’s side use the pain of a cup exit against Coventry City

Parkinson is fully aware that his team needs to be at its best if it is to achieve a positive result.

“They scored a lot of goals and we have to turn to that in terms of set-piece situations as well because they did a very good job in that area of ​​the game,” he added.

“It goes without saying that their record is there for everyone to see.

“We will need to give our best, but obviously that is the case in any match in the tournament. You have to reach levels and have seven or eight out of 10 on the field to get the points.”

Having suffered heartache during his time as Derby County manager, former England midfielder Lampard suffered further pain following last season’s regular season when Coventry lost to Sunderland in the play-off semi-finals.

“He did well at Derby in his first job where he got to the play-offs and did well,” Parkinson said.

“Then he had a couple of jobs in the Premier League and went to Coventry, in the play-offs last year, and obviously this year they are looking to take that step further.”
