WWE SmackDown Superstar Suffers Devastating Injury; It could be out for over a year

Elton Prince, who has not competed since May 2025, recently underwent surgery to treat his neck and may not be appearing on television anytime soon.

Prince, along with Kate Wilson, forms the Pretty Deadly duo on SmackDown. The two have been part of WWE since 2020, but did not graduate to the main roster until late 2023. Their upward momentum came to an abrupt halt when Elton Prince suffered an unexpected injury in May 2025, sidelining him indefinitely. In his absence, Wilson turned to a singles wrestler.

After months of speculation, Prince recently issued a statement regarding his absence, revealing that he had undergone a neck fusion procedure. WWE Superstar Kit Wilson discussed his partner’s injury

After Elton Prince announced his stance, his team partner, Kit Wilson, also issued a statement, addressing details regarding the former’s injury.

Wilson noted that Prince was a private person and had been calmly dealing with the setback over the past few months. He added that Prince was a complete professional and that he refused to give up even though he realized that he was injured during his last match in WWE before he was taken out of the way.

“Elton is a very private person, so he would never tell people how difficult this journey has been for him. So I’d like to share a little with you. The amount of pain, struggle and hardship he endured just to get to the point of having this surgery was nothing short of impressive. He was injured in the middle of the match. While trying to figure out what was wrong, he made another move that hurt him badly. At the time, I didn’t know how serious it was, but I knew he was screaming at him to get out and get medical help,” Kate Wilson said. “Even then, he was determined to stay in the ring and finish the match – that’s the type of wrestler he is.”

Prince’s last match was on the May 2 episode of SmackDown last year, where he and Wilson lost to the duo of Axiom and Nathan Frazier.
