England will face Canada in a rematch of the 2025 Women’s Rugby World Cup final as part of a three-match WXV World Series in September.

The Red Roses were crowned world champions for the third time when they beat Canada 33-13 in front of more than 80,000 spectators at Twickenham five months ago.

In September, they are scheduled to host Australia, Canada and New Zealand across three regions in England.

John Mitchell’s side will welcome Australia to CorpAcq Stadium on September 12 before hosting Canada at Sandy Park in Exeter on September 19.

They will also face six-time World Cup winners New Zealand at Twickenham on September 26.

“We can’t wait for another encounter with one of the best teams in the world,” England and Exeter’s Maddy Fionati said of the match against Canada.

Red Roses captain Megan Jones said “it doesn’t get much better than a Red Roses v Black Ferns match”, while Sale Sharks hooker Amy Cokayne added it was “fantastic” to host Australia in the North West.

The matches are part of the WXV World Series, which replaced the WXV competition and will feature the top 12 teams in the world.

Scotland, Ireland and Wales, along with France, Italy, Japan, South Africa and the United States, are the other teams who have qualified to be in the top 12.

Teams will play between 9 and 16 Tests in the WXV World Series, outside of World Cup years, with a maximum of six Tests each September and October.

England will play their first match since winning the World Cup when they begin their Women’s Six Nations defense at home to Ireland on April 11.
