Chris Eubank Jr has vowed to fight the “battle of the contender of the decade” in his country Rematch with Connor Penn on saturday.
The two bitter rivals engaged in a tense final showdown at Friday’s ceremonial weigh-in at the iconic York Hall in Bethnal Green.
Eubank appeared emotionless but Penn, who said he was on fire when he lost their first fight in April, seemed the more passionate of the two.
“Everything is on track for Chris Eubank Jr. to win by knockout,” Eubank said.
“This is what I love to do, this is my life. I’m not passionate, this is what I was raised to do. I can’t wait to get out there and show the world again.”
“The first fight was the Contender of the Year fight. This fight will be the Contender of the Decade fight.”
After being the stars of Thursday’s press conference, Chris Eubank Sr and Nigel Benn were not on stage for the weigh-in.
The boxers were officially weighed on Friday morning behind closed doors and both tipped the scales at 11 pounds (72 kg).
Although it was only a ceremonial weigh-in, the scales were turned on and Matchroom promoter Eddie Hearn said Ben was 11 pounds (76 kg) lighter and Eubank was two pounds lighter.
Both fighters are bound by a rehydration condition that prevents them from weighing more than 12 pounds (77 kg) on Saturday morning.
