✅ **What You’ll Learn**:
Former Fox News host Tucker Carlson is set to launch his own imprint and publish books by the likes of Russell Brand and alt-right commentator Milo Yiannopoulos.
The printing company, Tucker Carlson Books, will be part of US-based Skyhorse Publishing. “I think most people don’t read books anymore because they’re so immersed in all the other media out there,” Carlson said, according to the Wall Street Journal. Those who do, he added, “tend to be disproportionately influential in political conversations and conversations about ideas.”
Among the titles the Carlson imprint is slated to publish is Brand’s How to Become a Christian in Seven Days, which Skyhorse describes as “a testimony and guide to a timeless, yet zeitgeist-captivating, grounded, yet psychedelic encounter with Christ.”
The former BBC radio presenter turned influencer is currently facing charges of three counts of rape, three counts of sexual assault, and one count of indecent assault in the UK, all of which he has pleaded not guilty to.
Tony Lyons, Sky Horse’s publisher, said the Carlson imprint would provide “a platform for things that would, in many cases, be shut down, censored, and covered in propaganda.” Lyons “only looks for books that no one else will publish,” Carlson said.
Carlson, a former Trump supporter and promoter of right-wing conspiracy theories, was reportedly fired from Fox News in 2023. He soon launched his own media company, the Tucker Carlson Network. The imprint is launched in partnership with the network.
The Carlson imprint will also publish Yiannopoulos’ book Ex Gay. Yiannopoulos had previously been shunned by publishers, with one insider describing his 2017 memoir, “Dangerous,” as a “toxic book.” His publication was later canceled by Simon & Schuster after footage emerged in which he made comments that appeared to condone sex between adult men and underage boys. Yiannopoulos denied endorsing child abuse and said the video was “selectively edited.”
Skyhorse’s previous publications have included Woody Allen’s memoir Apropos of Nothing, and US Health Secretary and anti-vaccine activist Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s memoir The Real Anthony Fauci. The publisher, distributed by Simon & Schuster, launched in 2006. On its website, it claims to be one of the fastest-growing independent book publishers in the United States.
Existing imprints include Good Books — which says it focuses on cookbooks, country life titles, craft books, Amish and other Christian titles, and justice and peacebuilding — and War Room Books, which published Trump’s Time to Get Tough in 2024.
